Jonathan Gable is the founder of marcâto, a marketing research and consulting agency based in Hamburg, Germany.

Prior to starting up marcâto in the summer of 2016, Jonathan was a senior director at blue-chip research agencies such as BrainJuicer, MetrixLab/Macromill and Penn Schoen Berland, building businesses and developing trusted advisor relationships with major multinational clients in Europe. His specialties are brand strategy and positioning, insight and idea development, and social media and communications research.

Jonathan is from California but has lived and worked in Germany for most of the past 30 years, giving him a deep understanding of European business and culture as well as a broad international perspective.  He started his career in marketing, working at Colgate-Palmolive, General Mills and Dunkin’ Brands before moving to the agency side. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars across Europe.

Jonathan holds a graduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Hamburg and earned a B.A. in Business Economics and Music, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, at UC Santa Barbara. He is married and has four children, likes cooking and sports and is a weekend singer and choral conductor.
